Central Coast Highland Dancing Presents Inaugural Scottish National Dancing Titles
To be held at the renowned Gathering of the Clans in Norah Head, the Scottish National Dancing Titles will seek the dancers best depicting the spirit of Scottish National Dancing. Similar to Highland Dancing, the dances depict a traditional story and are told Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing Technique.
The titles will see approximately 50 dancers across several levels and ages compete against one another with each competitor showcasing their skill, athleticism, elegance and carriage as they present a number of traditional dances.
The event will be hosted by Australasian Champion Dancer Douglas McFarland and backed by Central Coast Highland Dancing Inc who are considered a leading authority in the promotion and preservation of Scottish Highland and National Dancing.
Dances such as the Scottish Lilt, Flora McDonalds Fancy, Blue Bonnets, Village Maid, Earl of Erroll, Barracks Johnnie, Highland Laddie, Irish Jig (Scottish Version) and the Sailors Hornpipe will be featured in the day of dance as well as some innovative choreography. The event takes place on September 3rd from 10am to 4pm.
